The third book in the new series by popular author Jackie Baldwin will be published on December 8,2026. A Dagger at the Wild Haggis Bookshop (Storm Publishing) tells a story in which Beth Cunningham and the Wild Haggis Bookshop gang sign up to help with Oban’s Christmas production.
They expect nothing more dramatic than backstage nerves and a few dodgy dance numbers but the town’s crumbling old theatre – complete with gargoyles, a tragic history and rumours of a vengeful ghost – has darker things in store. During the dress rehearsal, a prop knife becomes horribly real, and a woman is stabbed in full view of the cast and crew.
As Detective Sergeant Logan Hunter takes the case, Beth can’t resist getting involved – even as a face from his past threatens to unravel the future she’s slowly letting herself imagine with him.
Behind the velvet curtains, Beth uncovers a tangle of old grudges, simmering jealousy and a leading lady who will do anything to stay centre stage.
